On April 2, 2018 SB-87 passed the Colorado General Assembly, the final step before the bill was sent to Governor Hickenlooper to be signed into law.
SB-87 will waive the customary one-year residency requirement for newly-arrived refugees and SIVs in Colorado to qualify for in-state tuition.
This bill will put higher education within reach so SIVs and refugees can more quickly obtain needed credentials to re-enter their careers and pursue opportunities that will help them thrive.
